Business Development Executive – Sales

Straker is seeking a Business Development Executive to join our Revenue team on Auckland’s North Shore.  The successful candidate will be responsible for providing appropriate quotes and ongoing client growth and retention by building strong relationships with clients, identifying and anticipating their needs and providing outstanding support.    Our ideal candidate will be customer-obsessed, with great listening skills and the ability to build rapport and identify opportunities to help extend our offering to their clients to help them meet and exceed their own business goals.  

We have a light and bright office, across the road from the bus station and with easy motorway access.  You would be working alongside long-standing, experienced senior revenue team members who will mentor and guide you on your journey with us.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for automation and educate and encourage your clients to progress to automated processes
  • Identify key opportunities for account growth and work with relevant internal staff to help execute plans to expand existing client revenue
  • Account setup, including CRM, credit approvals and workflow setup with respective departments
  • Prepare quotes and work actively to convert to revenue
  • Achieve budget targets
  • Ensure correct pricing and business model application for long term growth and margin optimisation
  • Learning, understanding and presenting current and new technologies to clients


  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Sales experience
  • Customer obsessed
  • MS Word and Excel to intermediate level
  • Positive attitude with a good sense of humour
  • Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
  • Knowledge and experience within the industry advantageous but not essential
