Translation Project Co-Ordinator

We are seeking an enthusiastic, tech-savvy Translation Project Manager to join our company.

This a great opportunity for someone who is bi-lingual/multi-lingual has a passion for languages, is technically astute, with excellent skills in word and excel and an understanding of file formats and types.  

You will bring to this role – a minimum of 1-year experience within the Translation industry,  experience with CAT tools/TM management and a firm understanding of linguistics/language having completed linguistics or language-related studies/degree.  We provide pleasant working conditions, benefits, advancement potential and support tools for creating a productive and rewarding work environment, based on Auckland’s North Shore. This role will be Tuesday to Saturday – 6 am – 2:30 pm.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English and one additional language
  • Minimum of 1-year industry experience
  • Linguistics or Language related studies/degree
  • Excellent written communication
  • Able to manage timelines and meet deadlines
  • Strong multi-tasking ability
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Preferably a touch typist but at least able to accurately type 35+ words per minute
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and general technical nous
  • Customer obsessed

Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of embedding new customers and responsibility of nurturing ongoing customer relationship once assigned
  • Provide high-quality customer service by responding to e-mails, and/or telephone queries with both existing and prospective clients
  • Prepare quotes for clients – screening the text for complexities to understand requirements and options
  • Work with and assign jobs to contract translators from a wide diversity of cultural backgrounds and disciplines
  • Manage project timelines to ensure a positive outcome for clients
  • Handle client and translator feedback and queries on translation projects
  • Handle technical aspects of translation including DTP and other content formatting requirements.
  • Quality Assurance checks of projects prior to delivery to the clients
  • General administration and office tasks as requested
