Business Development Manager

We are seeking hungry and ambitious Business Development Managers to support our growing Business Development team in North America. The Business Development Manager (BDM) role is a key driver of new business. Under the direction of the General Manager and Business Development Director, the BDM will convert a pipeline of Leads from MQL to SQL and into satisfied customers. As part of a successful new business program, the BDM manages the entire sales process, which ends in ensuring a smooth handover of newly onboarded clients to the Customer Success team. The BDM will work with both hot and cold leads, combining a variety of tools to both generate new leads directly and manage inbound leads. The BDM must align our service offerings to address client needs and concerns and will be responsible for acting as a consultant and guide through the localization process, moreover, the Straker process. In addition to pipeline and sales management, the BDM will also be required to assist with forecast creation, data tracking and learn the knowledge to succeed in our industry.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with leads through a proactive approach to client engagement
  • Identify new opportunities and leads to ensure a full pipeline
  • Act as an expert in translations to work as a solution centric sales person
  • Become an expert in Straker Translations offerings and educate leads on the use and benefits of our entire service offering
  • Work closely with Marketing, Support, Billing, and other Technical teams to ensure an exceptional onboarding experience and take care of any client issues
  • Be a client advocate while capturing feedback and reporting requests to appropriate department
  • Efficiently manage time to focus on essential activities to ensure efficient onboarding, a full pipeline, and sales targets are met
  • Manage any approvals, legal documentation, contracts and other admin tasks internally to ensure a smooth onboarding process for the client

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience in a customer-facing sales role, such as Business Development, Account Management, Inbound Sales
  • Experience working with senior and executive level enterprise accounts
  • Proven ability to maintain highly valuable and outcome-based relationships with a diverse customer account base
  • Proven track record of closing deals in value of 50,000USD and above
  • Willingness to travel and visit clients onsite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident, high energy, self-motivated and a true team player
  • Excellent multitasking and project management skills
  • The ability to plan and strategize in collaboration with clients
  • A persuasive and confident approach to sales/business development
  • Well-organized, with a high attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Industry experience in one or more of the following is desirable translations, software, E-learning
